Welcome to Flag Ecology
We are a new ecological consultancy based in the south-east of England and we offer a range of services including habitat and protected species surveys, advice on the conservation of habitats and species and training.

Why Flag Ecology?
The yellow flag iris is a striking wetland plant that forms the logo of our company.  It was found to be a prominent species in one of the first Flag Ecology contract surveys of a series of nationally important wetlands in 2012. Unlike many of the species we deal with this plant is not threatened.  Indeed it has been suggested the yellow flag iris would be one of the most likely plants to survive a nuclear winter!  We aim for our advice to you to be similarly robust and reliable.

Conservation and development
Although much of our work involves the provision of independent surveys and advice to potential developers we also provide a respected nature conservation service.   We are proud of our work in helping to restore populations of endangered bumblebees, such as the brown-banded carder bee, to south-east England, for instance.  We work with a range of conservation partners including Natural England and the RSPB.
